Air plant. Get ready for all the plant drawings, they have been perfect for playing with ink and things.
New mini gouache paintings in the shop. Trying to get some new prints together.
Anything you would like to see? I like to hear from people.
Took some new photos of old things for the shop. I apparently have a very distinct color scheme when I paint things.

I’m trying to learn plants and practice with ink and brushes. I can’t help but make chunky shapes no matter how I draw.

A friend from school of mine is doing an amazing thing, spilling all of her secrets in a gallery setting she is calling The Secret Show.
She inspired me to draw how I feel recently, which has always been lost on me. Any time I tried to journal or draw feelings I just get overwhelmed, it was a nice change to actually get something down.
Check out this amazing lady, Mama Cass is a fabulous person to know. Lots of triggers, prepare to cry your eyes out. I know I did. http://art-therapy-as-a-charity.tumblr.com/

I’m really excited, I’m getting closer and closer to a look in my work that feels right. Apparently it is important to find good brushes when working digitally. Who knew?

Remember Skullastic? The company that makes customizable school supplies? They were awesome enough to invite me back to do another notebook cover. I love working with them, especially when things like “we were asked for something more girly” mean flowers with teeth.
You can buy one here if you like. Righty or lefty bound and your choice of paper. Pretty cool.

Another pattern! Just save and tile this dude if you would like to use it on your desktop.
I made it to get pumped about a story I want to illustrate but can’t quite work out in thumbs well enough to go through with it. Soon, though. Soon.
I made a pattern with all those stumps I drew. A little less solemn than the illustration I used them for though. Use the bottom and tile.
In December I made some stands for some scrimshaw I got for my dude’s christmas gift. I etched them and really badly riveted the copper pieces together. Not much you can do when your anvil is a 4in iron pipe but I tried.

doodling up a storm with this brush.
One regret I have is not making a bearded axe with Brian before we left the forge in Indiana. One day, man. One day.
